The Strategy & Transformation Practice is one of the largest practices at Bain, and at the heart of some of our biggest client success stories. We’re constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation, with new hooks, points of view, products, tools and delivery models that bring together the best thinking from our most successful client heads and senior strategists, to stretch our client’s definition of full potential, embed change within their organizations, and deliver results. The Strategy & Transformation Practice team works very closely with partners, senior managers and teams to bring Bain’s best experience and the latest tools and innovations to bear across sectors and offices. They are integral in helping Bain win new cases and advising our case teams on difficult strategy and transformation questions.
The Practice Director Value Creation Center role is part of our Corporate Strategy and Finance solution team, which consists of a Global Solution Leader, Expert partner, EMEA-based Practice Director, and support from the knowledge management team. The solution team also has access to BCN resources to aid in IP development and SKU delivery. The Corporate Strategy and Finance team supports clients and Bain teams on topics like portfolio strategy for multi-business firms and bringing investor and capital market perspectives to clients to identify opportunities to accelerate value creation.
The Value Creation Center combines Bain’s leading analytical and technological capabilities to support clients in full potential conversations to achieve sustained value creation and is led by a dedicated partner team and an expert partner as general manager. The Value Creation Center has teams in Mexico, Delhi and North America. The Practice Director Value Creation Center will lead the Mexico hub and work with teams across the globe, with a focus on North America, to accelerate value creation of Bain clients.

The Practice Director Value Creation Center role is a critical one for the Strategy & Transformation Practice, supporting CS&F product and IP development and deployment, and client and case team support.
The Practice Director Value Creation Center will report into the Expert Partner who is the General Manager of the Value Creation Center and work closely with the global solution leader and team and partners affiliated with the Value Creation Center.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Advising Clients on value creationAdvising clients on value creation taking an investor perspective, often at Board or C-level, supported by a dedicated team of analystsDeveloping recommendations for clients to accelerate value creation across all financial statements and working closely with industry experts and the Bain partner teams working with the respective clientLeading the Value Creation Center Team in MexicoLeading our growing Value Creation Center team in Mexico which is currently ramping up and will consist of multiple teamsLeading and supervising the teams in Mexico in preparing investor-led full potential discussions with clients across the globeInnovating the delivery model for the Bain teams embedding the latest technologies, like AI, working with Bain innovation experts and developersEnsuring quality control of the delivered work Providing PD opportunities and managing the team allocation and staffing to opportunities in alignment with the partner team IP developmentDeveloping new Bain IP and approaches and establishing an ongoing innovation feedback loop with clientsSupporting technological innovation based on client feedbackCommercialization and brand buildingContribute to the global external and internal marketing plan working with the solution leader and teamSupporting publication development (e.g. with analytical insights) and internal and external awareness measuresCross-practice and regional interactionEstablishing and ongoing dialogue with the global practice / solution LT and VCC delivery teams across regionsSupport training and PD sharing client learnings / insightsABOUT YOU
A great candidate will possess:
Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Finance, Economics, or related field). MBA or a CFA are preferred, but not required.10+ years of professional experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, corporate development, or a related fieldStrong track record in managing multiple teams of financial analysts / consultants Experience in presenting recommendations to senior executives, ideally Board / C-levelStrong financial acumen and advanced Excel/financial modeling skills.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.Demonstrated ability to manage complex analyses and synthesize strategic insights.Exposure to engagements in corporate strategy, capital markets, M&A, due diligence, or enterprise value creation.Familiarity with valuation techniques (DCF, multiples, etc.) and capital markets dynamics.Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and client-facing environment.Experience or familiarity with AI-driven business solutions—e.g., generative AI or machine learning applications in finance.Additional skills and experiencePython programming skills, particularly for financial modeling or data analysis are a plusExceptional communication skills that enable building cross-functional relationships and managing projects across multiple teams; experience and proficiency creating high quality presentations, ideally at C-level or for Boards of DirectorsDemonstrated track record of working in diverse teams with a variety of skillsets and expertiseDemonstrated problem solving and organizational skills with a proven track record of being a self-starter Entrepreneurial and at-cause: knows how to prioritize what needs to be done and rallies colleagues to get things accomplished; “roll up the sleeves” type of attitude, with an eye for continuous improvementHunger for learning: eager to continuously stay at the forefront of technology, learn new skillsFuture-oriented: appetite to advocate for the customer, disrupt and innovateCollaborative: knows how to work with and through others to drive results and make change happenProactive and well-organized: able to make progress on multiple fronts at onceA servant leader: track record of managing high-performing, service-oriented team members, motivating and developing colleagues above and below their own tenure and enabling their success
