You Are:
A Senior Solutions Architect with deep expertise in Data Engineering, particularly in leveraging Databricks, who will be required to build and scale a Databricks practice from its inception, involving direct interactions with senior client stakeholders and contributing to UST’s growth in the data services domain.
The Opportunity:
· Establish and lead a Databricks practice from the ground up.
· Engage in client-facing roles, interacting with senior stakeholders effectively.
· Utilize UST Data Services assets to deliver persuasive proposals to clients.
· Develop and present high-quality presentation decks, proposals, and RFP responses.
· Own sales and revenue targets for the Databricks practice.
· Stay abreast of the latest developments and trends in data engineering and cloud technologies.
You will need:
· At least 15 years in IT consulting, with at least 7-10 years in delivering data engineering solutions.
· Experience building a practice or product team from the ground-up is highly preferred.
· Experience developing data pipelines, warehouses, lakes, lakehouses and data heavy applications is a must have.
· Technical expertise in Databricks, proven experience with AWS (with certifications preferred) and exposure to and experience with Azure and GCP.
· AWS and Databricks certifications or are actively pursuing certifications.
· Exceptional communication skills.
· Demonstrable thought and team leadership experience.
· hands-on experience and development skills in Apache Spark.
· hands-on experience and skills in developing data engineering solutions in Databricks.
· Deep knowledge and experience with the Databricks ecosystem.
· Ability and experience optimizing Databricks implementations for performance and costs.
· Ability and experience developing point-of-views comparing Databricks to other leading data platforms like Snowflake, Azure Synapse and Cloudera is a must have.
· Experience in client-facing roles and interacting with senior client stakeholders.
· Ability to quickly understand and leverage UST Data Services practice and assets.
· Proven track record of achieving sales and revenue targets.
· Capability to work collaboratively in high-pressure environments.
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Bonus Points If:
· You are certified in Databricks.
Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Remote
Compensation Range: $144,000 to $216,000 base
Benefits
Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.
