Job SummaryBlack & Veatch is seeking a Process Engineer Practice Leader who will be responsible for leading and managing biosolids/residuals and odor control process engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in both areas and will be based in Colorado.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of biosolids/residuals and odor control process engineering projects Develop and maintain client relationships Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends Key Responsibilities• Staying current on industry trends and client needs to inform growth strategies and supporting the development and implementation of strategy and growth initiatives.
• Participating in thought leadership activities to build the BV brand as industry leaders in the implementation of tailored treatment solutions.
• Playing a vital role in business development activities, including pursuit strategy, prepositioning activities, proposal development, and project interviews.
• Serving as technical advisor to design teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle of planning, design, construction, startup and commissioning, and operations.
• Driving joint accountability for project execution, safety performance, and managing project scope, budget, schedule, and deliverables quality.
• Mentoring and supervising team members to build best-in-class capabilities, building technical bench strength through staff development and recruiting, and developing capabilities to meet business and client needs.
• Serving as a technology leader, recognized as a company and industry expert in residuals, biosolids, vapor phase, and liquid phase odor control approaches.
• Developing innovative solutions critical to company success, leading and performing odor studies, including written documentation of efforts and presentations to clients, preparing complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles, and developing and leading field sampling programs.
• Coordinating with dispersion modeling and sewer modeling teams, incorporating modeling into planning efforts, and developing scopes of work and estimating the level of effort for new projects.
Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 10 years of experience in process engineering, with expertise in both biosolids/residuals and odor control Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred MS or PhD in Environmental Engineering or related disciplines relevant to wastewater treatment Experience integrating with dispersion and collection system modeling into odor planning Strong writing and presentation skills Experience with client development Proven leadership and project management skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Minimum Qualifications Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
