GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB 

The Practice Management Analyst II (PMA II) functions as the support contact and specialist for their assigned Epic applications. This team member works under the direction of the Practice Management Analyst Lead and consults with the Sr. Practice Management Analyst to configure, build, and install the application. The PMA II coordinates all issues that arise during the application build phase. Key operational activities include responsibility for reviewing workflows and understanding policies, procedures, and constraints of the clinical or business operations supported by the application through consulting with the Sr. Practice Management Analyst.  Investigation and documentation of operational specifications and application functionality is required. Key technical activities include the analysis of new releases to determine how workflows should be modified, building and populating databases and tables during initial system configuration, conducting system testing in collaboration with the Practice Management Analyst team and RCM/Operations. Development of internal procedures will be conducted in conjunction with the PM Lead, Sr. Practice Management Analyst and if applicable RCM/Operations. 

The PMA II functions as a contact to troubleshoot problems and questions from end-users. This individual must be an effective communicator.  Attention to detail is a critical skill for this position.  

This team member helps end-user departments in the design and implementation of new applications, systems, enhancements, and required maintenance in consultation with the PM Lead or Sr. Practice Management Analyst. Other responsibilities are to participate in the design, coding, testing, and documentation of new or existing applications. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviews business and user requirements and collaborate with teams to design and build technology or process solutions which automate or improve the EMR system to support business strategies through consulting with the PM Lead and Sr. Practice Management Analyst. Supports the Epic application by reviewing the solution design, training resources, and supporting processes.  Communicates effectively with coworkers, users, vendors, and leadership by actively listening, respectful correspondence, discussions and timely follow up. Working with the PM Lead and Sr. PM Analyst, produce quality deliverables throughout the change lifecycle, demonstrated by design session deliverables, essential testing functions, and implementation methodology. Supports and maintains the EMR by working with the IT Helpdesk and vendor in analyzing current issues and resolving through corrective action.  Working with the PM Lead and Sr. PM Analyst, review root cause analysis and corrective action process. Works with Reporting team to ensure proper system design to facilitate data capture.  Supports EMR related projects in the role of system subject matter specialist regarding the system in question. Manages change management related to systems including reviewing release notes, coordinating system upgrades, and working with the Training Department. Promotes teamwork, stewardship, and accountability throughout the department.  Participates in vendor demos, site visits, and system health checks. Working with the PM Lead and Sr. PM Analyst, recommends and designs technology solutions to business problems. Utilizes online resources to learn about new functionality; how to implement/troubleshoot functionality. Participates in meetings with vendors to troubleshoot Electronic Health Record issues and to gather requirements/recommendations for functionality. Participates in projects with direction from PM Lead, Sr. PM Analyst or Operations. Participates in the creation, review, and execution of system wide test plans. Evaluates new releases of the Electronic Health Record System and in consultation with the PM Lead or Sr. PM Analyst, recommends which new features to implement. Tests new releases of the system, this includes pre and post upgrade testing and informing about system changes. Ability to work independently with supervision, multitask, prioritize, adapt to change, attention to detail. Continuously helps to improve the organization’s products and processes. Troubleshoot problems and address questions from users and provide on-call support on a rotating basis. Work closely with the Sr. PM Analyst to document build specifications, team processes and clinic workflows. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: 

Bachelor’s degree preferred 

Experience: 

Minimum three (3) years’ experience in IT in a healthcare organization required Minimum three (3) years’ experience as an Analyst in Epic applications required Revenue cycle workflow in a healthcare setting preferred Clinic front office workflow experience preferred Release of Information workflow experience preferred 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

Resolute Professional Billing.Additionally, must be certified in at least one of the following Epic applications:Cadence, Prelude, Referrals, Welcome, Security or HIM.   

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

Experience with design, build and configuration of an EMR environment Experience with design, build and configuration of Epic applications Experience with appointment scheduling and registration workflows in a healthcare setting General knowledge of and experience with practice management applications  Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare business Demonstrated business analysis skills and experience Strong time management skills and ability to work on multiple projects at once Excellent written and verbal communication skills across multiple disciplines Demonstrated customer service and collaboration skills working with end users Proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion Strong problem-solving skills Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently as well as with a team
