Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to be involved in the production of power converters, collaborate with various teams, and contribute to the strategic development of the company. Through targeted hands-on experience, you will gain valuable insights and further develop your technical skills.The work model for this role is: onsite. #LI-onsiteThis position is offered in partnership between ABB System Drives and ABB Traction at our Untersiggenthal / Turgi location. Depending on your preference and suitability, you will complete your studies within one of the two divisions.Your Main Responsibilities:•\tYou will start with an introductory training where you will learn and apply essential technical skills. Following this, you will accompany all production steps of a power converter, gaining valuable insights into the processes.•\tDuring the first two years, you will work closely with specialists in assembly and testing to gain solid hands-on experience. You will actively participate in various processes and learn about the technologies and methods directly in the production environment.•\tAs you progress through the four-year program, you will apply your academic and practical knowledge in engineering. This includes designing components, creating circuit diagrams, and supporting testing processes to further develop your technical understanding.•\tToward the end of the program, you will have the opportunity to choose a project from various fields, such as inductor test bench, MV cable dimensioning tool, or battery management system—developed in collaboration with FHNW and ABB. Additionally, throughout your four years at ABB, you will build an international network, providing valuable perspectives for your future career.This role provides an excellent foundation for future career paths as an electrical engineer in development, engineering, project execution, service, or technical sales. A degree in electrical engineering also offers a strong basis for further development in technical, project, or leadership roles.
Qualifications for the roleYou are starting a practice-integrated bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Energy and Drive Technology at FHNW in a part-time model.You meet the admission requirements for the PiBS program at FHNW and have verified this if necessary.You are looking for a hands-on education where you can actively contribute at least 40% of your time in a real work environment.You are passionate about electrical engineering – you enjoy working hands-on and solving technical challenges.You are an open and team-oriented person who enjoys collaborating with different people in various teams.You speak and understand German and can communicate confidently in a professional setting
