Job Description

The intern will assist our Practitioner Performance Analyst on the Medical Staff Services team with all duties related to the Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) process. This is the piece of the credentialing process at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta that deals with our providers’ ability to perform privileges as requested. This is an ongoing process as we have providers that are credentialed on a monthly basis.

Project/position description:

Assist in cleaning out / closing out open FPPE’s for multiple providers. There is currently a backlog of approximately 1500 FPPEs that need to be completed. This involves communication with the section director and communication with the physician and/or APP who currently has an open FPPE.Assist in creating a RedCap project to use going forward for our physician FPPE process. This would involve building the project, testing and creating a pilot group of physicians after the project is built.Exposure to the Ongoing Professional Practitioner Evaluation (OPPE) process.

Qualifications:

Progression toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in Health Informatics, Healthcare data analytics or Medical Terminology preferredStrong work ethic and demonstrated initiativeStrong writing, communication, interpersonal and presentation skillsSolid process, analytical, problem solving and time management skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Education

College or graduate student that is currently working towards a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration or other related field
