Background in production and manufacturing.
Proficiency in diesel engine operating theory.
Proficiency in understanding of Manual (MT88) and Automatic Transmissions (6R80,10R80 &10R60).
Skilled Mechanic.
Diagnostic skills relating to vehicle component failures.
Good problem-solving skills, including ability to identify and resolve issues and challenges.
Knowledge of the Warranty Policy and Procedure Manual, Dealer Bulletins.
Knowledge of PTS, FDRS,VCMM,IDS, computer skills and effective communication/Presentation skills
Understanding of vehicle mechanicals, electricals, petrol and diesel injection systems.
Ability to analyze components presented to confirm cause of failures.
Ability to interpret quality data.
Ability to drive Forklift.
Degree /National Diploma / N4-N6 – Plus or Trade Test Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
Working Experience in Auto Industry-Minimum of 3 years.
Quality Experience is essential.
Workshop Mechanic Diagnosis and Fault Finding.
Have a sense of urgency.
Must be able to work independently and as a part of the team.
Co-ordinate with PRC Ops analyst to get requested parts mainly Transmissions and Engines back from the dealerships.
Track and Maintain the Transmissions and Engines inventory with clear status daily.
Ensure that returned parts meet the requirements of the Warranty Policy Manual.
Support warranty activities by receiving and binning warranty parts for adjudication.
Conduct L1 (visual inspection) and evaluation on the returned parts for all the commodities.
Conduct L3 (On-vehicle testing) on warranty failed parts.
Binning of adjudicated parts, parts packing, and shipment documents preparation for dispatch to suppliers.
Setting up, preparing, and conducting engineering testing and teardown of warranty returned transmissions and engines.
Review the SharePoint for new warranty claims loaded that requires testing or teardown.
Update Test Report with the testing or teardown findings
Manage day-to-day workshop / teardown area operations, tools availability, tools, and equipment maintenance.
Conduct root cause analysis on the returned parts.
Review NFF claims with FCSD & process dealer chargeback on OWS.
Capture initial observation (photo, video, snap of data logger & DTC Chart)
Determine liability for quality issues based on claim analysis, part inspection and teardown.
Initiate and lead escalation of issues.
Generate and analyze warranty reports.
Responsible for Health and Safety and 5S in the PRC Warehouse
Establish and maintain a feedback system to provide details of warranty return concerns to Warranty Engineer.
Maintain good relationship with the Local CFT & IMG regional team.
