Pre Admission Surgical Screening RN
**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** **Position Purpose:** At **Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center** , the Pre-Admission Surgical Screening Registered Nurse RN of the **Connecticut Joint and Spine Institute** prepares patients for surgical readiness. **What you will do:** + Complete pre-surgical interviews, patient prep, education, protocols, diagnostics, and collaborate with anesthesia for patient surgical readiness. + Responsible for reviewing surgical charts, ensuring that procedure site and side are confirmed with the patient and the appropriate forms are correct. **Minimum Qualifications** : + **Education** : Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN degree is preferred. + **Registered Nurse RN Licensure:** Valid and current Connecticut registered nurse licensure is required. + **Experience:** 1 or more years of nursing experience in an Acute InPatient setting is required. Perioperative or General Surgical experience is preferred. + **BLS or CPR certification:** Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross will be accepted. + Requires the ability to practice utilizing **AORN** (Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses) recommended standards and guidelines. **Position Highlights and Benefits** **:** Full-Time – 36 hours/week - Day Shift. + The clinic is open Monday thru Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. **Ministry/Facility Information** Saint Francis Hospital has been an anchor institution in Connecticut since 1897.
