Obtains pre-authorization as needed for testing and other services and scheduling of such testing and services with facilities and patients.
**Requirements:**
+ High school graduate or equivalent
+ Previous medical office experience
+ Previous experience with pre-authorization process is preferred
**Major Responsibilities:**
1. Pre-authorization of diagnostic testing; medications; surgical and office procedures; through contact with insurance companies.
2. Responsible for scheduling the above-named procedures.
3. Documenting all information on appointments including date; time; authorization; and reporting this information back to the practices.
4. Will need to extract information from both EPM and EMR to provide for clinical review with insurance companies.
5. Understand and use EMR templates for Diagnostic imaging; labs; and master IMs.
6. Responsible for reporting back to practices if services are denied.
7. Knowledge of clinical information needed to schedule procedures and obtain additional information from patient if necessary.
8. Maintain documentation on status of authorizations in process.
9. Other duties as assigned.
