Pre-Award Administrator

Summary: The Pre-Award Administrator is responsible for the administrative duties related to proposal development and application for restricted external funding opportunities. Reports to the Manager of the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP), and collaborates with project staff, principal investigators/project directors, financial staff, grant writers, and other internal and external stakeholders to assist internal customers with proposal development. Communicates with internal customers to determine external funding needs, identify appropriate opportunities to fulfill this need, and ensure the organization’s eligibility prior to Parkview’s commitment to the pursuit of the external funding. Serves internal customers by creating timelines and outlines for proposal completion, defines responsibilities regarding proposal components, prepares a variety of supplementary forms required by sponsors, assists with budget development, ensures that proper approvals are obtained prior to proposal submission, and submits proposals to sponsors in accordance with sponsor guidelines and deadlines. To minimize institutional risk, also proactively identifies compliance issues and ensures adherence to OSP policies and procedures throughout the Pre-Award process.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration, Finance, Health Care, Writing Concentration, or other associated area.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in writing and project management is required. Experience with Microsoft Office products is required. Experience with budgeting, grants management, and proposal development are preferred. Demonstrated skills to work well with a diverse groups of stakeholders. Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task. Must have excellent project management and organizational skills. Must have excellent understanding of the grant life cycle and associated terms and conditions associated with the application and acceptance of external awards. Must have exceptional verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to present information effectively to teammates, stakeholders, and Parkview Health leadership. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, and capable of independently learning how to use other software, as needed.
