•retrieves folders and prints/retrieves charts requested

•logs requests received in CNE and mailed in CNE and Cerner        
•answers the telephone and provides instructions to the callers for obtaining copies of patient records/assists patients in completing authorizations to disclose patient information     
•faxes patient information to other physicians/facilities for treatment purposes              
•processes walk-in requests for radiology films                 
•verifies records are complete and maintains a system for processing requests for incomplete records              
•verifies doctor=s appointments when patients are requesting records for patient care   
•notifies the patients of copying charges and when records are ready to be picked up   
              
Demonstrates adequate knowledge of ROI statutes as set forth by state and federal government                
determines the dates of service requested, prints an AI sheet and highlights the requested dates of service, attaches the authorization, and routes to the appropriate ROI staff member for disclosure

•demonstrates knowledge of state laws (Mississippi Code & Mississippi Rules of Evidence)        
•demonstrates knowledge of laws governing the release of alcohol/drug treatment records and the requirement for a specific authorization for that purpose

Responds to ROI requests on a timely basis prioritizes work load to prevent backlog of requests
