Be part of a team dedicated to improving cancer patient treatment and care. We are seeking a dedicated Research Associate / Preclinical Imaging Technician to support our research activities. You will work closely with a team of skilled Research Associates and Scientists, reporting directly to the LFIC Scientific Director. This role offers best-in-class training in mouse handling, health and husbandry, and a wide range of technical procedures. As an LFIC Research Associate, you will be performing the scientific research, working closely with our collaborators to execute their oncology-related small animal studies. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to receive training in advanced imaging techniques such as bioluminescence imaging (BLI), ultrasound, MRI, PET/CT, and irradiation, enhancing your expertise in cutting-edge cancer research methodologies. We conduct groundbreaking research that advances treatment, we educate tomorrow's physician/researchers, and we work with amazing partners, including other Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals. + Conduct small animal in vivo procedures, including: + Administration of agents via IV, SC, PO, IP routes into rodents + Blood sampling via multiple routes + Rodent surgery procedures + Dissection/necropsy, tissue collection and processing + Monitoring and evaluation of rodent health through observation, clinical scoring and caliper measurements. + Maintain laboratory records, notebooks, and study files. + Ensure general upkeep of the animal procedure rooms, supplies and equipment. + Adhere to IACUC requirements and DFCI institutional guidelines. + Provide study updates to the collaborators in a prompt and professional manner. + High School DiplomaExperience with mouse procedures is preferred. Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field preferred. + Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. + Strong communication and teamwork abilities. + Position located at 27 Dry Dock Ave, South Boston.
