Our projects range in scope from large-scale new construction to complete tear-offs, re-roofing and renovations of existing building exteriors, and on-going roof maintenance, inspection, and repairs of all major commercial roof systems.
This position is based in Charlotte, NC and will be 100% in the office with a Monday-Friday schedule.
Job Summary: The Preconstruction Manager is responsible for tracking and carrying out various administrative services for assigned commercial roofing projects and will plan, organize, and execute preconstruction projects, and requests.
Responsibilities and Functions:
After a project is under contract, review projects with estimator.Reviews contract specifications, drawings, sales orders, and other project documents to understand requirements.Set up project in CRM software and prepare job books for active project files.Identifies, acquires, and ensures the availability of materials and supplies.Work with vendors and manufactures to purchase materials.Prepares workforce projections and budget estimates based on a summary of labor hours and material costs for each job.Acts as liaison with architects, engineers, and consultants on behalf of the company in planning, construction, and renovation projects.Work with CAD tech to create custom shop drawings, as required.Prepare submittal packages and contract requirements, coordinate for shop drawings for design team review and approval.Meet with Construction team to turn over project to Operations and Project Management teams.Managing, controlling, and prioritizing multiple activities while handling multiple project files Work well in a team environment at all levels of an organization.Other projects and duties as assigned by manager.
Skills/Qualifications:
BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience in similar role. Prior experience working for Commercial Roofing.2 years similar work experience for commercial construction contractor, design, or manufacturing.Ability to read and interpret blueprints to draft clear and detailed manufacturing procedures.Ability to understand and implement a budget.Familiarity with CAD software.Exceptional reading and language comprehension. Proficient in MS office, XL, typing and computer navigation skills Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally Maintain professional and technical knowledge Stable work history
