Job Summary:
Repsol Renewables North American is seeking a skilled Pre-Construction Manager to join our dynamic team and support the Company’s growing number of utility-scale solar projects across the U.S. The Pre-Construction Manager will be responsible to provide engineering and technical services to the Company’s solar energy projects, with a focus on the early-stage development through pre-construction phase.
The position is based in Downtown Houston with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
Responsibilities:
Assemble, issue and evaluate RFPs for engineering and construction services, and assemble bid comparisons and analyses in support of a recommendation for selectionDevelop preliminary engineering and construction schedulesCommunicate important design, estimating, development, pre-construction, and construction milestones to the project teamLead the value engineering process for each projectCreate project infrastructure layouts for estimating purposes, ensuring that constructability considerations are taken into accountLead projects through the transition between development and construction to ensure a clean hand-offContract and work with vendors and with the engineering team to obtain pricing for technical services including geotechnical studies and transportation studiesReview drawings, specifications and other construction documents with the engineering team, and communicate issues, accuracy of information, and potential risksSupport development efforts, including permitting, and attend meetings with landowners and other project stakeholdersDevelop a project risk matrix for each project identifying potential risks and associated costsEnsure that all project development requirements and constraints are incorporated into the final designDevelop project cost estimatesRequirements:
Strong inter-disciplinary communication skillsStrong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of software including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ProjectFamiliar with use of Google Earth and/or GIS softwareHigh motivation and passion to help create and efficiently deliver renewable energy projects, with a focus on solar projectsExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong analytical and quantitative skillsAbility to work in a project-type environment with tight deadlines and concurrent deliverablesAbility to learn, understand and communicate technical issues effectively to lay audiencesHighly organized with a strong ability to multitaskAbility to work with minimum information and quickly develop an understanding of a project using the available resourcesAbility to manage and problem-solve complex technical and commercial issuesAbility to travel within North America by land or air, sometimes on short notice, and to visit prospective and active job sites (approximately 20% travel required)Proficient in the English languageEducation and Experience:
