Position Overview:
Delivers inspirational and well thought out classes to Pre-Natal, Post-Natal and Pelvic Floor clients of all levels, abilities and backgrounds.Available to work varied schedules including later afternoon, evenings and weekend classes.Warmly greets clients with a smile and eye contact. Anticipates client’s needs and address client by name.Develops safe, professional, and comprehensive programs that drive client goal achievement and retention. Demonstrates proper form and technique.Instructs and monitors clients during training classes on safe and effective movement. Provides movement modification as needed.Follows all Capital Health Studio policies and standards regarding class schedule, equipment cleaning, equipment usage, sound levels and starts and finishes classes on time.Educates classes on current health and fitness issues and trends and refers clients to the correct programs/classes that will meet their needs.Builds rapport and engages clients on a daily basis, ensuring all clients feel competent, confident, and connected by providing superior customer service.Understands, discusses, and promotes the studio and Capital Health and be actively involved in classes, special events, and other studio related events.Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs.Remains current on certifications, credentials and continuing education.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent. Personal Training certification or Group Exercise certification such as: American Council on Exercise (ACE), Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), or National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) or equivalent based upon specific exercise modality, and/or certification, education, or training in area of specialty to include but not limited to Exercise, Stress Management, Mindfulness, Health and Nutrition.Experience: One year experience as a group fitness instructor or trainer working with Pre-Natal, Post-Natal, Pelvic Floor exercise classes.Other Credentials: AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider, AHA Heartsaver AED preferred, American Red Cross CPR/AED accepted.Knowledge and Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledgeable in Health and Wellness field and possess a professional image.Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Ability to train at all fitness levels.Usual Work Day: Non-Exempt Hours PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTCarry objects, Push-Pull, Reaching forward, Reaching overhead.
