The Pre-Press Assistant position reports directly to the department manager.

What you will be doing:

Proof items with Global Vision proofing systemLearn how to find real print errors from false positives.Research and problem solve when Press department gives you the wrong or missing information.If Global Vision finds a print issue, bring findings to graphic department, or write an email if after graphic department hours.Keep records of errors with Global Vision software and scanner.Add plate delivery tracking numbers to File MakerClean dust from Global Vision scannerTake extra, not needed film off the rolls and put into trashBring Global Vision and Lab’s Garbage to trash compactorBring empty cores back to press in the proper spotResearch active jobs in file maker for opportunities with the color proofs.Use Global vision to check the customer approved proof against the stepped proof.Keep Global Vision area 5S.
