PURPOSE: To perform and maintain all production workflows in the Pre-Press area. Perform quality checks to ensure artwork is accurate, meets customer’s requirements and results in quality product
Responsibilities1. Learn and follow all Safety SOP/LOTO procedures within the dept.
2. Follow safety PPE procedures for plate room.
3. Demonstrated competency in all Pre-press Technician skill sets.
4. Visually inspect/digital files and plates for any defects, proper layout/image position.
5. Review all color separations for adherence to specifications.
6. Produce quality check on proof vs digital artwork.
7. Check for typographical and grammatical errors.
8. File plates and artwork.
9. Complete appropriate production report sheets.
10. Ability to retrieve completed plates and artwork from Printing.
11. Maintain housekeeping and reporting of maintenance problems.
12. Upkeep and preventive maintenance of machinery.
13. Help to manage material supplies and consignment counts to ensure materials are available.
14. Responsible for communication and follow-up of daily production.
15. Demonstrate the necessary computer and software skills as demanded by the position.
16. Follow additional/shift-specific responsibilities as described by the Pre-Press Manager and or Sr. Pre-Press Technicians.
17. Attend and participate in all quality meetings and other meetings as needed.
18. Maintain current job status in DECO and daily output logs.
19. Process PQN remakes and billing.
20. Verify barcodes in Pilot.
21. FTA FIRST L3 Certification.
22. Ability to assist with coverage needs within the department as needed and assigned.
23. Submit FTA submissions.
1. Degree in Graphic Arts and/or Printing Technology or equivalent work experience preferred
2. Strong communication and organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
3. Must be detail oriented
4. Knowledge of Microsoft Office & Excel, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat Professional is preferred
5. Visual acuity of at least 20/50 for distance (corrected or uncorrected) and a minimal near vision ability to read 10 to 12-point font
at a distance of 12 –18 inches
