Position Purpose:

This is a Pre-registration Coordinator position which requires 12 hour shifts (7a-7p,11a-11p and 7p-7a). Open availability is required 7 days a week including weekends and holidays as needed.

What you will do:

Directly responsible for the daily operational activities necessary to assure that all functions of Patient Access are performed in the most efficient and effective manner, to promote public relations by being friendly, professional and respectful. Greets patients and family members, obtains, and verifies demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance information during the (pre)-registration process, accepts point of service payments or provides guidance for payment options, and clears the patient for service delivery.

What you will need:

Licensure/Certification/Registration:  HFMA CRCR preferred.

Education:  High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Associate degree in Accounting or Business Administration highly desired.

Experience:  Past work experience of at least one to three (1-3) years within a hospital or clinic environment, an insurance company, managed care organization or other health care financial service setting, performing medical claims processing, financial counseling, financial clearance, accounting or customer service activities is highly desired.  Consideration may be given for commensurate customer service experience in another industry.
