This position will involve the integration of many different products from the Teledyne FLIR portfolio and therefore will require a wide breadth of knowledge and will require collaboration with other members of the Application Engineering team. Application Engineers work closely with product management, asset management and factories to provide feedback on product performance. The role requires approximately 50% travel within North America and internationally to support BDS opportunities. Successful candidates will be generally outgoing, technically competent, customer focused, and enjoy playing a key role delivering solutions to meet the needs of our end users. Secondary tasks for this position will be to support the Applications Engineering team in the monitoring, control, tracking, and movement of UIS (IDS) demo pool assets to support demonstrations, trade show events, customer loans, and business development & marketing personnel. Assist in completing administrative tasks including bailment agreements, licensing paperwork, and shipping documents. Perform functional checks for incoming & outgoing demo pool shipments and coordinate required repairs with the service department. **Primary Duties & Responsibilities:** + Provide technical sales support to our BDS team and customers including product demonstrations, testing events, training, and product integration (both on-site and remote). + Conduct on-site surveys and assessments to ensure successful deployment of solutions + Attend trade shows to support BDS team technically. + Facilitate demonstration/event communication, from planning stages to reporting goal status to key stakeholders. + Assist with system design and technical responses for proposals and quotations. + Collaborate with product management teams by providing functional and customer feedback to the product and engineering teams. + Provide training for internal BDS personnel and external business partners/integrators. + Work closely with customers to manage technical product expectations. + Assist in the accountability of UIS demo assets for Applications Engineering team. + Assisting in the testing of system functionality before shipments leave the facility and upon their return to the facility. Work closely with the service department locally and at each operation to assure operational capability of all demo assets. + Coordinate shipments with customers, FLIR GTC and shipping department. Track demo assets and assure timely return. + Monitor and track all systems in Customer Service for repair and communicate the timeline for completion of system repairs to meet requirements. + Provide weekly status reports of equipment condition and changes to locations. **Job Qualifications/Requirements:** + Undergraduate degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science strongly preferred. + Strong problem solving and critical thinking/troubleshooting skills. + Excellent computer and networking skills, specifically with Microsoft products and software deployment. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team, both internal and customer facing. + Work effectively in a dynamic environment where priorities shift frequently. + Field service experience (global experience preferred). + Proactive and self-motivated. + Able and willing to travel approximately 50%, 1-2 times per month for 1-2 weeks (variable based on project and customer requirements), mostly domestic and some international as needed. + Must hold a US Security Clearance or have the ability to obtain one. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience with software-based products. + Experience with control systems (security, surveillance, access control, SCADA). + Experience with security and surveillance hardware (cameras, radars, autonomous vehicles, analytics). + IT and network management experience.
