Precision Assembler

Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Precision Assembler to join our team in Cookeville, TN. As a Precision Assembler, you will be responsible for preparing plug valve assemblies, assembling equipment and tools, and performing test requirements. You will also disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble components during the repair process. You will work with the latest materials and tools to ensure the delivery of high-quality products to our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble and custom assemble equipment and tools according to drawings, instructions, and work orders, with attention to detail and quality
• Demonstrate advanced understanding of inspection equipment and their functions to ensure parts and assemblies meet specifications
• Ensure all parts and components are clean and assemblies are completed properly, following all assembly procedures
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal safety equipment
• Operate precision measuring tools, including micrometers, vernier, and CMM, as well as hand tools, such as hydraulic torque wrench, presses, and fire torch
• Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and comply with Flowserve policies and procedures
• Read and interpret documents, including blueprints, technical drawings, safety rules, and procedure manuals
• Write routine reports and communicate clearly to peers, supervisors, and customers
• Demonstrate a customer-service mindset for on-time delivery and quality workmanship
• Basic computer aptitude to use/learn data entry systems and Microsoft Office Package
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required on short notice
• Ability to stand for long periods and safely lift up to 50 lbs

Requirements:
• 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or a related field
• Basic knowledge of mechanical assemblies and tools
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn data entry systems
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
• Familiarity with safety protocols and willingness to follow all safety procedures
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with peers and supervisors
• Basic math skills and ability to perform basic calculations

Preferred Experience/Skills:

• Manufacturing experience
• Experience with torque guns and hydraulic press
• Workshop experience and custom shop work
• General certificate of education or vocational training
• HS Diploma/GED and/or 0-2 years relevant experience
