JOB SUMMARY: Set up and operates equipment to expose, flatten and lap diamonds in Infiltrated Dressing Rollers. This is performed by using various machines to bring in the form to customer specifications. Also requires frequent inspection of work in progress and manual adjustment. Performs other duties as directed by Lead Operator and/or Supervisor. JOB RESPONSIBILITY: • Reads, reviews and discusses work orders, instructions, or blueprints • Obtains materials necessary to complete order • Selects proper tooling, shank holder, shoe and table plate, appropriate diamond wheel, grit, grade and type • Sets up grinding equipment and begins forming the angle on the diamond to specified tolerances (up to .0001) • Visually inspects work in progress against the comparator chart and makes adjustments where necessary • Maintains accurate records • Maintains clean and orderly work area • Follows all safety procedure, including wearing of required protective equipment
