Join the PDS Tech Commercial Team as a Precision Solder Technician (2nd Shift) – Maple Grove, MN!

We’re growing our soldering team in Maple Grove and are looking for motivated technicians to join us on 2nd shift.

Competitive Pay: $22-$23/hr, with potential for more with current J-STD and/or IPC-610, 620 certifications.

2nd Shift Hours: Monday–Friday, 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm, with overtime encouraged for additional earning potential.

What You’ll Do:

As a Precision Solder Technician, you’ll work hands-on with electromechanical components, focusing on high-quality, class III hand soldering. Your role includes:

Performing detailed hand soldering of through-hole, SMT, and flex components with precision, using scopes and tools to meet production standards.

Preparing and assembling parts: Cut, strip, twist, and tin wires, then fasten components such as resistors, capacitors, and cables to printed wiring boards (PWBs) and assemblies.

Following documentation: Adhere closely to written work instructions, process sheets, and drawings for each task.

Maintaining high standards: Clean and inspect parts and assemblies, measure and record product data, and strictly follow ESD procedures.

Using advanced equipment: Operate soldering devices, including solder wave, selective solder, and surface-mount equipment.

What You’ll Bring:

Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous manufacturing experience in soldering, including microscope soldering, is highly desirable.

Certification: Ability to obtain J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 certification.

Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, following instructions, and performing repetitive hand soldering tasks. Some tasks may require you to work under a microscope in a seated position, with occasional standing or stooping for machine soldering.

Pay Details: $22.00 to $23.00 per hour
