It is divided into integrated functional areas focusing on pipeline projects including discovery and preclinical research, global technical development, drug delivery technology, clinical development, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, intellectual property, quality assurance, R&D project and portfolio management. Headquartered in the new purpose-built and fully integrated Research and Development Centre in Parma (Italy), the team also has important operations in Paris (France), Chippenham (UK), Cary (US), Stockholm (Sweden), Toronto (Canada) and Shanghai (China). **_Who we are looking for_** **Purpose** As a Bioinformatics Lead you will be a part of the to be part of the PPM & R&D Digital Strategy and Execution Support Unit within R&D Project & Portfolio Management organization at the company. **Main Responsibilities** • Provide bioinformatic expertise to address a wide variety of biological questions by analyzing and interpreting data, generating reports and building systematic internal data repositories. • Conduct omics analyses towards target identification and drug mode of action characterization with emphasis on transcriptomic (scRNA-seq), genomic (WGS, WES), and proteomic (MS, Olink) data, to be connected with patient strata and clinical data. • Design, build and monitor analysis pipelines of molecular data and omic data (e.g. Nextflow / Snakemake) using cloud computing solutions (AWS, Azure) and code repositories (e.g. Gitlab). • Perform initial quality control checks (pre-processing and cleaning) and downstream analysis on data coming from -omics studies. • Perform multi-omic data integration approaches, network analysis, and pathway-level statistical analysis to generate new hypotheses and collaborate with scientists on data mining and guiding experimental design. • Collect, QC and homogenize public data sets towards their analysis and integration with internally-generated data, provide input to systematic multi-omic data repository creation and management towards drug repositioning. • Coordinate and oversee data analysis with external service providers. **Experience Required** • PhD in bioinformatics and/or computational biology, with a strong biological/medical background, and minimum of 5 years’ post-graduate experience. • Proficiency in analyzing NGS and single-cell analysis and subcellular analysis and other ‘omics’ data using statistical programming languages (e.g., R/Bioconductor, Python, etc.). • Demonstrated track record of applying bioinformatic analysis, including machine learning techniques and network biology, to integrate and analyze omic and clinical data, preferably within respiratory drug development. • Broad understanding of drug discovery and development, particularly early and late-stage development. • Strong publication record as a leading author. **Languages** English fluent **_What we offer_** You would join a dynamic, fast-growing, challenging and friendly environment.
