ABOUT THE ROLEAs a Preconstruction Project Manager (PPM), you will be the lead project manager during the preconstruction phase of projects. It will be your responsibility to manage RFP’s, Estimates, design, BIM, procurement, budget, deliverables, and client relations until the project is turned over to the project management team. Project BudgetingProviding conceptual budgeting and tools to BD to facilitate accurate and efficient qualifying of projects.Coordinating the Estimating effort on bids including front end document review.Organizing and lead bid reviews.Perform Estimating as needed to meet deadlinesVendor and Subcontractor ManagementAssisting BD with legal and risk management on all contracts.Reviewing and implementing the technical strategy for proposals with BD and Sales Operations.Client correspondenceProject interviews to represent budget approach and Precon managementBudget ManagementIdentify cost impacts throughout preconstruction phase and submit change ordersProvide VE and various client requested pricing exercisesManage financials of engineering and BIMPopulate billing SOVEstablish project JDE budget from estimateEstablish project EVMPreconstruction ManagementAct as project manager during the preconstruction phase of projects. You will be required to own various a-typical deliverables that arise during preconstruction. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position. Job Complexity: Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. Supervision: Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments. ABOUT YOUWith years of experience as a Project Manager for an electrical contractor, you are efficient in estimating and have a strong understanding of project budgeting. You bring experience in the management of design-build projects, and have a natural ability to build relationships with clients communicate confidently in project interviews. Your technical skillset includes proficiency in Accubid, Plangrid, Microsoft Office Excel, and Bluebeam. You have a balance of technical knowledge and communication skills, have a natural ability to manage and train others, and lastly, build relationships with clients and communication confidently in project interviews. WHAT YOU WILL GAINThe Preconstruction Manager acts as a key, technical leader in the entire work acquisition process including management, coordination, and delivery of the preconstruction phases of the project. As a Preconstruction Project Manager, you have the important responsibility to manage RFP’s, Estimates, design, BIM, procurement, budget, deliverables, and client relations until the project is turned over to the project management team. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAny combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying. Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business, or Engineering preferred. Licensure/Certifications: None required. Experience: Ten or more years of experience with aviation and/or water treatment projects as an electrical project manager is preferred.
