Our Financial Division is hiring for a Premium Audit Specialist to join their team! This position can be fully remote depending on the candidate. Candidates local to Cincinnati, OH will work on a hybrid schedule.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Conducts thorough audits of insureds financial records to verify the accuracy of reported premiums, ensuring that all calculations are precise and compliant with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.Conducts reviews and analysis of complex financial statements, payroll records, and other relevant documents, identifying trends and anomalies that may impact premium accuracy.Resolves complex discrepancies in policyholder records by coordinating with producers, underwriters, insureds, leadership, and other internal departments, ensuring that all issues are addressed promptly and effectively.Evaluates and determines the applicability of insurance certificates and class codes to specific exposures.Analyzes claim activity on policies to ensure that employee coding is consistent and accurate.Prepares and presents detailed audit reports to management, providing clear and actionable findings that support strategic decision-making.Collaborates with underwriters and other internal departments to ensure accurate premium calculations.Provides excellent customer service to policyholders by addressing complex audit-related inquiries and ensuring a positive experience throughout the audit process.May monitor and evaluate premium audit practices, assisting with implementing strategic adjustments to improve overall effectiveness and outcomes.May have responsibility for performance and coaching of staff and may have a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management for direct reports.Performs other duties as assigned.Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Risk Management and Insurance, or a related field or equivalent experience.Experience: Generally, 10 years of experience in Premium Audit, Underwriting, Accounting, or Finance. Insurance accounting experience preferred. Continuing progress toward and/or the completion of a professional designation preferred, such as Associates in Premium Audit Program (APA), Associate in Underwriting (AU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), or Associate of Risk Management (ARM).Scope of Job/Qualifications: Demonstrates advanced technical knowledge across various accounting principles and practices. Works on assignments of high technical and logistical complexity. Demonstrates advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Maintains knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure that all audits are conducted in compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and state laws. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and across departments. Serves as a senior resource on the Premium Audit team. Provides technical advice and support to lower-level positions.Business Unit:
