A Prep Cook is responsible for providing a supportive role to kitchen staff in the preparation of meals and ingredients. Food preparation, cooking and cleaning tasks ensure the kitchen remains efficient in creating and delivering a favorable dining experience for guests.

 

Compensation: $17.00

 

 

Responsibilities

Where You'll Make an Impact:

Washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and meats.Measuring quantities of seasonings and other cooking ingredients.Preparation of all raw and cooked foods.Adhering to all relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards to ensure guest safety.Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware taking out the trash, and sanitizing the kitchen.Keeping track of ingredient inventory and collaborating with staff to order resupply.Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the Head Chef or other kitchen manager.

Skills to Help You Succeed:

Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen.Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).Organizational skills.Patience.Manual dexterity.Communication skills.Attention to detail.Ability to work under pressure.Ability to communicate in English and fluently in either Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese & another Asian language. Qualifications

Must-Haves:

A high school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred.One (1) year of kitchen experience needed. Preferably in an Asian Restaurant. On-the-job training may be available.Must be able to comply with all state gaming regulations, which may include obtaining a license.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods of time without sitting or leaning.Ability to bend, stoop and reach while carrying food products, equipment, trash/waste weighing up to 50 pounds.Ability to lift, carry, deliver food items weighing up to 50 pounds throughout a scheduled shift.Ability to work around 500-degree ovens and work within 40-degree walk-in refrigerators.Ability to stand and walk continually throughout a 10-hr. shift.
