Job Description

The position prepares and analyzes environmental samples using standard analytical techniques according to approved scientific and EPA methodology in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures (SOPs).This position can be physical job that may require standing for long periods, working with organic solvents, laboratory glassware and specialized equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs. These include:Preparation of samples using standard techniquesPerforming chemical analysis using standard techniquesEvaluation and quantification of dataRecording and reporting data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisorPerforming routine instrument maintenanceCompetency on complex instrumentation instrument specific software (training is provided)Responsible for timely completion of assigned/scheduled QC samples (MDL, LOD/LOQ, PT)As required, documents NCMs for projects with quality issuesWorks under close supervision using routine and standard methodsResponsible for general housekeeping in work areaWeighing out and recording sample weightsAssisting the prep analysts with sample extractionsPreparing extraction suppliesUpkeep and cleaning of PromochromsCalibrating pipettesMaintaining a clean and organized laboratory

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, or ability required.

Education/Experience (BMQ):

HS Diploma or equivalentHigh school Chemistry coursework, basic laboratory experiencePrevious experience working in a lab

Specific Skills and Abilities:

 

Perform prep/analysis of samples of various matrices for various analytical methodsAnalyze/prep samples and QC for routine testingPerform basic maintenance on equipment used for routine workPrevious experience working in a labPrevious production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlinesPerform calculations with calculator / mathematical formulasComplete work within time and quality constraintsDemonstrate excellent time management and organizational skillsDemonstrate good problem solving skillsWork independently following written or verbal instructionsReading, writing and speaking skillsApplies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriatePerforms other duties as assignedWork overtime as workload requires

Additional Information

Compensation:$17-19/hr (DOE)

Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.

Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
