Job Description:
+ This position serves as an Extended Day Teacher for a Head Start and/or Early Head Start center.
+ The Extended Day Teacher will work collaboratively with the Teacher to ensure the successful operation of a classroom of children following the Head Start/Early Head Start operating day.
+ They will also work with a team of other classroom Teachers and family members to implement the curriculum to achieve outcomes for children of all abilities.
+ The Extended Day Teacher will ultimately be evaluated on a combination of skills, dispositions and behaviors, some of which are related to the specific service area of this position and others that represent general expectations of all Acelero Learning employees.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Communication and Service Coordination
+ Record Keeping and Reporting
+ On-going Monitoring/Self-assessment
+ Plan and implement learning experiences that advance the intellectual and physical development of children, including improving the readiness of children for school by developing their literacy and phonemic, print, and numeracy awareness, their understanding and use of language, their understanding and use of increasingly complex and varied vocabulary, their appreciation of books, and their problem-solving abilities
+ Establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment
+ Support the social and emotional development of children
+ Encourage the involvement of the families of the children in a Head Start program and support the development of relationships between children and their families
Job Requirements:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Able to lift a child weighing 40 pounds, 20 times a day if needed
+ Basic computer literacy in email usage, word processing and internet navigation
Additional Information:
+ The hours of this position are from 12:30 pm-5:30 pm
+ The hourly pay rate for this position is $16.35 (for non-bilingual) and $16.80 (for bilingual) candidate
+ Center Locations: 200 Route 35, Neptune City, NJ 07753
Pre Hire Requirements:
+ Two Valid IDs, Two Reference Letters, Physical exams and TB Tests, Fingerprint Screening (CHRI), and Background Checks (CARI) are required for this position.
+ Must have a Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
+ Please note: All new hires must attend the four days (Tuesday - Friday: 9 am to 3 pm) of mandatory New Employee Orientation Training at South Amboy Center - 310 Augusta Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879 upon completion of pre-hire documents.
