This position oversees and conducts all activities pertaining to the physical preservation of material held by ULS Archives Special Collections, including preparing condition assessments. It selects and conducts conservation treatment and reviews materials selected for digitization. As needed, this position will hire and supervise students employees who will perform general and collection specific tasks. This position will also assist with curating, preparing, and installing exhibitions and coordinate and prepare materials for loans. This individual is responsible for coordinating and leading disaster response and maintaining appropriate documentation and supplies. This position serves as a back-up on the A SC Reference desk at the Thomas Boulevard location. This individual could also provide support to the Text context lab, which may entail delivering workshops and presentations and/or limited staffing, as needed.

Ability to perform intricate treatments which require strong visual acuity, superior hand/eye coordination, and excellent fine motor skills. Must be able to work in an environment in which exposure to materials containing dust and mold is likely.
