As a Senior Executive, you must be an active and in good standing member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church to ensure we are leading and living by our mission and ministry.

The President provides executive leadership to the hospital and is responsible for the strategic and day-to-day operations of the entire facility:
• Officer of AHC, responsible to integrate entity in system.
• Authors the culture of the Hospital.
• Leads executive team to develop a strategic plan that ensures the hospital achieves its mission.
• Responsible for Medical staff relationships, development and reimbursement.
• Responsible for Foundation Fund Raising.
• Ensures that the critical success factors are achieved (i.e. Best place to work, most extraordinary experience, superior outcomes, financial success for reinvestment, valued as a faith-based organization, and a growing organization vital to the community).

As a President you will:
• Provide leadership in creating a culture that supports the Adventist HealthCare mission, values, and vision.
• Provides Executive Leadership for Strategic Planning.
• Recruits, Develops, Leads and Retains Executive staff.
• Ensures Financial success of the hospital.
• Ensures high level of patient satisfaction, employee satisfaction and physician satisfaction.
• Ensures continued compliance with local, state, federal and JCAHO regulations.
• Ensures strong presence in the community.
• Serves on various boards including, Hospital, AHC board, etc.
• Integrates hospital strategy with system strategy.
• Responsible for the financial success and growth of the organization, including overseeing creation and review of annual budget, financial analysis and financial reports.
• Provide leadership, direction, alignment and implementation to senior management team in strategic planning and achievement of strategic objectives.
• Develop strong connections to Adventist HealthCare corporate and regional level partners and resources, assuring that our local facility maintains the same standards and experiences for our patients and associates

Qualifications include:
• Master’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or related field
• 10 years progressive leadership experience
• 10 years hospital experience
• Minimum of five (5) years in a senior management position
• Active and in good standing member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church
• Strong leadership skills, especially team-building
• Ability to oversee and manage financial budgets and business/strategic planning.
• Ability to work independently and handle a multi task environment.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of clinical practices and processes, legal and regulatory requirements and mandates, and the ability to gather and evaluate data and outcome results to use in planning hospital operations, budgets, and process improvement
• Strategic vision and thinking. Strong business acumen, intelligence, and capacity. Ability to position the organization for the future, looking beyond the present situation to conceptualize key trends and identify changing market demands
• Continually enhances knowledge of health administration and administrative and management skills through a regular program of reading, research, seminar attendance and active membership in professional associations.
• Approaches work as an interconnected system. Ability to understand major objectives and break them down into meaningful action steps.
• Lead through Mission and Values: Consistently role model the organization’s Mission, Values, and Service Standards. Create a team environment that increases the awareness of and compassion for the emotional and spiritual needs of each team member. Respond to situations and opportunities with a Christ-like approach – knowing there is more than the current circumstance.

• Demonstrate Executive Presence: Present a poised, credible and confident demeanor that reassures others and
commands respect; convey an image that is consistent with the organization’s mission, vision and values
• Drive for Results: Translate strategic priorities into operational reality; create culture of accountability and ensure that people meet performance standards; define and monitor processes to foster results; establish and develop sign-off points and best practices to maximize results
• Focus on Consumers: Ensure that the consumer perspective is a driving force behind business decisions and activities; craft and implement service practices that meet consumers’ needs and organization values
• Make Healthcare Operations Decisions: Secure and compare information from multiple sources to identify business issues; commit to an action after weighing alternative solutions against important decision criteria
• Set Healthcare Business Strategy: Establish and commit to a long-term business direction after considering clinical and financial data, resources, market drivers and organizational values; anticipate and respond to shifts within the market, technology or policy environment that influence the delivery, management and financing of healthcare.
• Share Responsibility: Share authority and responsibilities with others to move decision making and accountability downward through the organization to stretch individual capabilities while accomplishing the business unit’s strategic priorities.

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday with occasional evening and weekend events as needed.

Pay Range:

$385,820.34 - $617,312.54

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount or if the position is Per Diem (offering a fixed rate), salary discussions will occur during the screening process.

Tobacco and Drug Statement

Tobacco use is a well-recognized preventable cause of death in the United States and an important public health issue. In order to promote and maintain a healthy work environment, Adventist HealthCare will not hire applicants for employment who either state that they are nicotine users or who test positive for nicotine and drug use.

 

While some jurisdictions, including Maryland, permit the use of marijuana for medical purposes, marijuana continues to be classified as an illegal drug under the federal Controlled Substances Act.  As a result, medical marijuana use will not be accepted as a valid explanation for a positive drug test result.

 

Adventist HealthCare will withdraw offers of employment to applicants who test positive for Cotinine (nicotine) and marijuana. Those testing positive are given the opportunity to re-apply in 90 days, if they can truthfully attest that they have not used any nicotine products in the past ninety (90) days and successfully pass follow-up testing. ("Nicotine products" include, but are not limited to: cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chewing tobacco, e-cigarettes, vaping products, hookah, and nicotine replacement products (e.g., nicotine gum, nicotine patches, nicotine lozenges, etc.).
