Job Description

RRD is looking for an energetic, and highly motivated team member to join our team of Press Operators at our Elk Grove Village facility.

Working as a Lead Operator, providing directions, training, and monitoring line performanceSet up, adjust, operate, and maintain a gravure press or , multi-color offset press to print single-color, two-color, and/or multi-color work which includes large solids, screen tints, line and halftones with critical color values and registration requirements ranging from hairline to criticalReview job specifications to determine the press setup according to the imposition of the run (sheet wise or work and turn)Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and checks for correct positioning of images, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register etc. Makes necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the workClean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as requiredPerforms periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.

Shift:  7AM - 7PM  3day/4day with switchover every eight weeks

QualificationsPrevious experience working as a Lead Press Operator (in a direct mail, packaging, similar work environment)Requires comprehensive knowledge direct mail press operations, positions, a wide variety of techniques, procedures, materials, specifications, equipment, and safety requirements to set-up, adjust, operate, and maintain equipment to produce single-, two-, and/or multi-color work to critical tolerancesStrong communication and leadership skillsSkill in a wide-variety of complex manipulations and mechanical procedures to perform a variety of tasks to set-up, make major adjustments, and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs of equipment to produce single-, two-, and/or multi-color workSkill to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most appropriate press usage, press settings and materials needed to run the job successfullySkill in use of micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly

Pay Disclosure Statement:  The pay range for this role at the noted location is $30.30 to $43.30 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include [a sign-on bonus of, overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
