Job Description:
Moves staged cart of doors into available press. Manually pushes pallet of doors off cart onto conveyor into press, performs visual quality checks, correct stile and rail gap with a mallet/press bar/screw driver, checks press height and adds cull boards where necessary, engages the press, reads air pressure gauge(on press) to ensure appropriate air pressure, mark doors for time in/out of press -Hardboard/6pWhite/Heritage doors- LB location, after cure time, releases press, pushes pallet of doors out of press onto transfer cart, places cardboard on top of door stack and blocks.
Knowledge:
Proficient in reading tickets to identify the types of doors and pressure required. Time management to control/coordinate stacks into/out of presses. Proper pallet pushing procedures, press loading process, visual quality checks (all doors on pallet aligned, no gaps between stiles and rails), perform press height adjustments, press operation, appropriate air pressure, mark doors, and proper block placement.
Skills:
Operate a mallet/bar/screw driver to close gaps, operate press in a safe manner, basic math and timekeeping is a must.
Responsibility:
Moderate level of responsibility, if pressure is not maintained properly press/doors can be damaged or physical injury. High risk of COQ and repair labor impact if job is not performed well.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift/slide/flip up and push stacks of doors and transfer carts up to 100 lbs of force. Push stacks of doors, bending, twisting, stooping. Lifting and placing cullboards up to 45lbs on to door stacks. Dexterity to reach high and low to close gaps between stiles/rails. Standing for long continuous hours.
Mental Demands:
High degree of concentration/time management/ door stack flow.
Social:
Must work closely with layup teams and drying room forklift driver
Working Environment:
Mildly controlled environment - can expect some cold and heat during extreme weather conditions. Mild dust environment.
