This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s vast network of rooms. 

 

The role

 

As a Pressure Compliance SME, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance. 

 

Day-to-day, you’ll provide technical guidance and ensure compliance within the UK regulatory framework. This role will be crucial in safeguarding personnel, assets, and the environment from pressure-related hazards.

 

Technical Guidance on UK Pressure Regulations: This involves expertise in the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), Pressure Systems Regulations (PSR) 2016, and Approved Documents (ADs). It also includes knowledge of RCC-M code, which is crucial for pressure equipment in nuclear safety classes Conducting risk assessments to identify pressure-related hazards and developing strategies to mitigate risks Ensuring compliance with UK legislation through interpreting and applying regulations to various aspects of pressure equipment design, manufacturing, installation, and operation Reviewing technical documents to ensure compliance with pressure regulations Investigating pressure-related incidents and near misses, ensuring safety is maintained Staying updated with regulatory changes and contributing to internal pressure management policies

 

This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week, and is based on site at Hinkley Point C. 

 

Essential experience of the Pressure Compliance SME 

 

Strong experience in applying UK pressure regulations, with a solid understanding of pressure equipment design, manufacturing, and operation Proficiency in writing technical documents and generating reports. Extensive knowledge in the procedural requirements of the pressure testing of piping systems. (Hydraulic and Pneumatic) Extensive knowledge of pressure related standards such as ASME B16

 

Qualifications for the Pressure Compliance SME

 

A degree in engineering or a related technical field is required

Security Clearance
