The Alma plant has an opening for a PRetreatment & Facilities Maintenance Technician with opportunities for overtime. Successful candidates will work in our food processing production facility located in Alma, KS, and enjoy competitive wages along with a comprehensive benefits package. Incumbents primary role is wastewater treatemnt in our faclity and faclities maintenance. Incumbent will be supplied uniforms.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include proper treatment of waste water discharge by verifying equipment is functioning properly, completing proper sampling and water testing. Insuring that water material stored in collection tanks is not contaminating storm water system. Changing out wastewater sludge collection vats and cleaning up any spills. Maintain acceptable levels of water treatment chemicals throughout the facility and replace drums as needed. Assists with cleanliness of maintenance areas including engine rooms, shops, etc. Changes light bulbs, wheels on trucks/carts, battery changes, painting, caulking, PM’s and other jobs as assigned by the supervisor. Exposure to outside weather conditions, high noise and dusty areas. 

QUALIFICATIONS

 Previous experience with facillites maintinance or construction a plus  Previous experience with water treatment equipment a plus. Good problem-solving and decision-making skills Strong pattern of initiative and ability to work with minimum supervision  Ability to prioritize and multi-task emergency and planned events. Attention to detail. Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in wide range of temperatures   (-10 degrees F to 100 degrees F) Ability to use powered equipment i.e. forklifts, hi-lifts ect.

  Working Conditions:

The incumbent will be exposed to all the hazard associated with a production floor environment not limited to the following - temperatures average 35-40 degrees Fahrenheit in plant, wet slippery floors, mechanical equipment, working with or around chemicals used to sanitize the facility and loud noise exposure. PPE required to include but limited to hard hat, safety glasses and hearing protection.  When required by specific job other PPE will need to be worn.
