Waste Connections is hiring a Preventative Maintenance Mechanic at our site in Haltom City, Texas. This position has a 4:00PM start time, 10-12 hour shift, with occasional overtime. Great pay, benefits and lots of room for growth!

Responsibilities Include:

Completes required paperwork utilizing the fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documents parts usage, and accounts for repair times.Ability to effectively communicate and understand service schedules and/or repairsGeneral shop maintenance/cleaning duties as neededEquipment safety checksCommunicate with drivers for issues in the morning and afternoonReviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection ReportsMaintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of commercial vehicles, including yellow iron.

Qualified candidates must have:

Experience in commercial or similar repair field is preferred but not requiredWillingness to learn new skills and a positive attitudeDriver’s licenseBasic tool set and toolboxBasic computer skills and ability to learn test diagnostic laptop and software
