Are you a passionate undergraduate student looking to gain experience in substance use prevention programs and community outreach? Do you want to contribute to making a positive impact in your community? Join our team at Preferred Family Healthcare as an Assistant Prevention Specialist Intern!

As an Assistant Prevention Specialist Intern, you'll work closely with Prevention Specialists to provide information to coalitions, assist in leadership and guidance for coalition work, attend required trainings, collect data, and maintain records. Your role will also involve assisting with grant writing, program development, and social media tasks. Join us in creating and maintaining coalitions, promoting community outreach, and adhering to program policies.

Position Perks & Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:

Assist Prevention Specialists in providing information to coalitions and leadership in coalition work

Attend required trainings and meetings with Prevention Staff

Collect data, maintain records, and assist with grant writing

Help create and maintain coalitions and participate in community outreach

Adhere to program policies and maintain professional conduct
 

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Enrolled in a bachelor’s program or in progress bachelor program
 

Internship Requirements:

Provide proof of participation or enrollment in college

Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, and abuse/neglect

Completion of Intern orientation
 

Additional Qualifications:

Knowledge of confidentiality laws governing substance abuse and mental health treatment

Ability to establish rapport with client population

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
