Pricing Actuary - Programs (Risk Placement Services)

Overview This role would be involved in all aspects of leading pricing actuarial support for Risk Placement Services (RPS). It is expected that this role will provide support for a number of business units as required. This is a highly visible position in an area of strategic importance for RPS. How you'll make an impact Responsibilities Responsible for developing and managing relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally Leading projects and initiatives Managing and directing the activities of the pricing actuarial team Recruitment, development, and training of the pricing actuarial team, as needed. Ongoing responsibility for: Strategic analyses and business partnership to help business units achieve target loss ratios, including underwriting improvement plans. Produce and communicate regular portfolio management analytics across business units. Pricing and Rating tool development for new programs. Maintenance of pricing and rating tools for existing programs. Develop tools for identifying and monitoring aggregation of coverage for certain classes or specific exposures. Product development – industry, peer, and market analyses to support new initiatives. Leading initiatives to enable standardization and automation across data and reporting. Play a key role in driving strategy around the use of technology, external data, and the collection and organization of enterprise data. Liaise with carrier partners on matters of program and portfolio underwriting performance Other relevant duties as assigned About You Education Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, statistics, economics or related field Experience 8+ years of experience ACAS or FCAS Breadth of experience across commercial lines products and lines of businesses, across property and casualty. Strong understanding of the insurance business (including insurance accounting) Leadership experience Skills Excellent technical aptitude, including: Actuarial skills – deep expertise in pricing, product development, reserving, underwriting performance management, experience with catastrophe modeling / predictive analytics considered a plus Technology skills – Microsoft Office, data extraction and manipulation (e.g., SQL), presentation tools (e.g., Power BI).
