Pricing Analysts are responsible for determining profitability of existing accounts and proposing new pricing on accounts by analyzing a number of factors to determine cost and establish pricing necessary to attain proper contribution. 

Responsibilities Analyze Pricing Request- approving if profitable, denying if unprofitablePerform 90 day audits of accountsManage/review expiring tariffsPerform Account Manager and terminal profitability reportsPerform competitive rate comparisonsKnowledge of Transportation contractsRespond to inquiries on quote requests, courtesy invoice reductions and tariff/contract publications brought forth by internal and external customersDetermine profitability of existing accounts and proposed new pricing on accounts by Review contract verbiage for submissions that may not be to our favor and forward to Legal with any inquiryReport data on pricings approved/profiles submittedAcquire credit scores on necessary CustomersCalculate costs of volume shipments to ascertain needed revenue for proper contribution on volume quotesWork closely with Account Managers, Service Center Managers, Regional Sales Directors and other Management and internal departmentsUnderstand rate structure, discount, FAK, minimum floor charges, accessorials, fuel surcharges, loading/unloading allowances, rebates, etc. and how it affects profitabilityAuthority to formulate, affect, interpret, or implement Pricing management policies or operating practicesCarries out major Pricing assignments in conducting the operations of the businessAuthority to negotiate and bind the company on significant Pricing mattersProvide consultation or expert Pricing advice to managementTrack assigned Service Center performance and adjust goals for better performanceAssist in covering responses sent to the Pricing group email group as neededAssist fellow Pricing team members on projects and/or backlog as neededComplete special projects issued by Management as neededContinuously improve processes Qualifications Excellent written and oral communication skills
