Job Summary
This role will be a key supporting role reporting directly to the VP of Pricing Strategy with exposure to both Deal Desk (Transactional Pricing) and Strategic Pricing fields as well as a wide range of stakeholders.
Your Role & Responsibilities
80% of this individual’s time will be invested into Deal Desk (Transactional Pricing) related tasks. During this time, this individual will:
Serve as a mini-CFO over deals being reviewed, as they assist in the preparation, review, and approval of sales quotes and proposals, working closely with the sales and pricing teams, as well as finance, rev ops, legal and other stakeholders as needed to examine proposals for appropriateness and fit (e.g., compliance with internal policies and guidelines, and consistency with price yield vs. comparable deals, situational context, and corporate goals). Track and report on deal performance to aid in the identification and communication of value created, trends emerging, and/or potential issues in motion. Work closely with key stakeholders from across the business to drive consensus and develop, implement, and execute effective pricing strategy and commercial policy. Leverage and hone their strong coordination skills with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and ensure timely deal closure.
20% of this individual’s time will be invested into Strategic Pricing initiatives. These will range across a diverse set of analytical and insight generating / communicating activities. These may include:
Pricing strategy analysis Competitive analysis Elasticity analysis Price testing / setting / discounting analysis Conversion analysis Cost & profitability analysis Trend analysis (e.g., ARPU, margin, yield, etc.) Pricing tool development & augmentation Tracking & communicating value creation, emerging trends, etc.
In this portion of the role the individual will be leveraging a mixture of tools (internal and 3rd party) as well as conducting and reviewing research (primary, secondary, etc.).
In sum, this individual will have exposure to a wide range of analyses and stakeholders at a multi-billion dollar company that is the largest in its niche.
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders. Prior experience in sales operations, finance, or a similar role is a plus but not required.
