The Primary Care Physician's Assistant will provide high quality primary medical care, diagnostic and therapeutic care and service, referring consultations for specialty care, and education and preventive care advice to all patients served. The Provider performance will be tracked and comparatively reported using metrics related to the strategic direction and operational needs of the organization. Works closely with physicians and other clinicians in a team approach to patient care. May specialize in a specific type of clinical care, e.g., family medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics.Responsibilities:Provides direct primary care medical services to patients.Provides outpatient primary care medical services within scope of practice as determined by delineation of privileges.Reach an informed diagnosis based on scientific knowledge and the patient’s medical historyPrescribe and interpret lab testsAssigned to one primary site for delivery of care, with cross coverage at other sites when necessary.Participates in active problem identification and problem solving to improve the overall clinical program and patient care at the physician's primary site. This includes active participation in quality assurance activities as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.Serves as team leader for staff at primary site for purposes of problem solving and self-management.Collaborate with other physicians, physician assistants and nurses to form a high performing medical teamFosters a climate of trust and compassion for patientsRequirements:
Skills:• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all employees and department needs.• Must be a self-initiating and adaptable with ability to communicate to a variety of staff members.• Must be highly organized, and possess good oral and written communication skills.• Compassionate and responsive to the needs of the patients.• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all employees and department needs.• Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.• Basic office procedures relevant to duties contracted for according to primary care.• Effective communication and patient education skills.• Must be able to work and problem solve independently.• EMR and Basic office procedures relevant to duties contracted for according to primary care.• Bilingual English/Spanish highly desirable.
Education and Experience:• Gradation from an accredited Physician's Assistant program• Proven experience as a provider in Family Practice• Licensed by NC Board of Physician's Assistants to practice medicine• Board Certification in a primary care specialty preferred.• DEA Certification
