Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Care Physician to join our healthcare team in Oxford, NC. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive primary care services to patients in a rural setting, addressing a wide range of medical conditions and promoting overall wellness in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Patient Care:
+ Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including history taking, physical exams, and diagnostic assessments.
+ Develop and implement treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions.
+ Perform routine and preventive care, including vaccinations, screenings, and health education.
+ Manage common illnesses and injuries, and coordinate care for more complex cases.
+ Provide care for patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics.
+ Community Engagement:
+ Foster relationships with patients and their families, understanding and addressing their unique needs.
+ Participate in community health initiatives and educational programs.
+ Build trust within the community and advocate for the healthcare needs of the population.
+ Collaboration and Coordination:
+ Work collaboratively with other healthcare providers, including specialists, nurses, and support staff.
+ Coordinate patient referrals and follow-up care as needed.
+ Utilize telemedicine and other technologies to extend care and consultation.
+ Administrative Duties:
+ Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
+ Manage administrative tasks, including patient scheduling and billing, as required.
+ Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to practice guidelines.
+ Emergency Care:
+ Provide emergency medical care for urgent health issues when necessary.
+ Be prepared to handle a wide range of medical emergencies in a rural setting.
+ Professional Development:
+ Stay current with medical advancements, best practices, and continuing education requirements.
+ Participate in professional organizations and conferences relevant to primary care.
Qualifications:
+ Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
+ Licensure: Valid medical license in NC or eligibility for licensure.
+ Board Certification: Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related field.
+ Experience: Previous experience in a rural or underserved setting is preferred but not required.
+ Skills:
+ Strong clinical skills with the ability to diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ The ability to work independently and manage diverse patient needs.
+ Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant technologies.
Working Conditions:
+ Environment: Clinic
+ Hours: Monday-Friday (8am-5pm)
+ Physical Requirements:
+ The ability to perform medical procedures and lift/pull patients as needed.
