Clinical Counselor - Pediatric Behavioral Intensive Outpatient Program - Full Time - Days

The Clinical Counselor delivers psychotherapeutic interventions and group therapy to help pediatric patients and their families address underlying challenges, build effective coping mechanisms, and establish supportive networks, fostering stability in their daily lives.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
*All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise*
1. Provides care coordination and case management for children and families.
2. Provides evidence-based group therapy to enhance individual understanding and acceptance of personal and situational problems.
3. Collaborates with the program’s multi-disciplinary team and participates in developing and implementing treatment plans.
4. Serves as a resource and advocate on behalf of the client.
5. Maintains accurate documentation of patient program progression to reflect significant events and progress toward treatment goals.
6. Refers patients and families to appropriate community services.
7. Conducts phone intakes with referring agencies and patient families to help initiate services.
8. Help coordinate and conduct new client orientations.
9. Assists in data collection and program evaluation activities.
10. Engages in formal and informal education of staff and community
11. professionals regarding traumatic stress and other related topics.
12. Attends program meetings and conference calls, etc.
13. Assists in evidence-based group therapy program development and recommends changes as needed.
14. Maintains and keeps abreast of current respective professional development and standards of the social work/counseling fields. Drives process improvement by making recommendations on changes in policy, procedures, equipment, and programs.

16. community mental health, welfare, social agencies, and their representatives
