Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a PRIMARY PREVENTION SPECIALIST (PREV WF) (TITLE 5), Position Description Number NGT0029P01 and is part of the TN ARMY Army National Guard. This vacancy is not eligible for membership to a labor organization. Responsibilities As a PRIMARY PREVENTION SPECIALIST (PREV WF}, GS-0101-11, you will serve as the point of contact for harm and abuse prevention programs and activities; provides program coordination and serves as the subject matter expert for the Region IPP program. Support inter- and intra-personal violence prevention efforts and programming through the regional leadership advisory committees, boards and working groups. Serve as the Region liaison for local military and civilian agencies to promote timely information exchange, coordinate collaborative prevention efforts, and establish resource links and community partnerships. Responsible for developing and overseeing healthy climate, resiliency, risk reduction activities, trainings, and communication campaigns within the Region. Recruit, train, and facilitate military volunteers for prevention activity implementation. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various social science resources. Must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures. Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of social science program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions.
