The Job
A Principal in IG Advisory builds strategic, long-term accounts to manage and develop the information governance business within those clients. In addition to the sales and business development responsibilities, Principals are also expected to lead engagements, be highly-involved in practice leadership, driving thought and solution development, oversee management of their practices and mentor consultants who report to them.
The Principal will sell and lead engagements across the portfolio of IG Advisory including:
Information Governance assessments, strategies, roadmaps, organizational design and program design and implementation spanning the disciplines of records management, law, privacy, information security and information technologyContent Classification and ROT remediation of paper and electronic content (both unstructured and structured sources) including providing these as managed servicesRecords Retention Schedule development and records management policy and program developmentIron Mountain Policy Center Solution and business partner softwareStaff AugmentationThe Responsibilities
Sales
Meets or exceeds assigned booking and revenue targets by supporting sales partners in seeking out and identifying new information governance revenue opportunities at existing and potential clientsDevelops and delivers insightful, value-added proposals that address complex client issuesPartner with other internal leaders across Iron Mountain capability areas to design and sell information governance programsDevelop new client relationships through various means with support from Iron Mountain sales and executive teamsDelivery
Build and maintain sustainable client executive relationships through high-quality delivery; ensure results, exceed client expectations, and be a trusted advisor and partnerManage scope, risks, results, schedule and profitability to deliver successful projectsDeliver C-level presentations, driving actions and decisionsCoach and develop junior consultants through on-the-job trainingPractice Leadership

Across the IG domains of records management, privacy, security, information technology and Discovery/legal hold, on a scale of 1 to 5, be at least a 3 in all and a 5 in oneAble to build multi-year Information Governance roadmaps across different Information Governance domains including records management, information technology, information security, privacy and legal holdAble to drive IG strategy through design, and implementation, acting as a trusted advisor to client cross-functional teamsUnderstands modern enterprise information technology including enterprise content management, cloud, artificial intelligence/machine learning and database archivingHands on skills with tools for remediating redundant, trivial and obsolete data and content in enterprise applications and repositoriesManaged a minimum of $4-5 million/year in consulting/solutions services revenue, meeting established profitability and utilization targetsSupported business development activities, providing responsible consulting delivery leadership in discovering and shaping opportunities, solution development, proposal generation, and deal closing stagesLed consulting engagements, managing client expectations, and engagement staffing, issues and risks, contract change control, internal operational processesDeveloped Information Governance strategiesMinimum 7 years information management industry consulting experienceBachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience, plus JD, MLIS and/or professional industry certifications, such as Certified Records Manager (CRM), Certified Information Professional (CIP), Information Governance Professional (IGP), or MLS (Master of Library Science) is preferredCategory: Sales
