Amazon Shipping is looking for a Principal Strategist to lead Amazon Shipping's strategy and leadership engagement. Amazon Shipping launched in the US in 2023 and is live in parts of Europe. We have an exciting multi-year roadmap and as we scale this new service that will play an important role in spinning the Amazon flywheel. The ideal candidate will work across the businesses to understand how the customer, product, and operation build towards our north star. This candidate must be a customer visionary with a strong track record of proposing and implementing strategic initiatives.
Key job responsibilities:
• Craft and communicate a durable long-term vision for how Amazon Shipping builds its value proposition
• Work across divisions to understand key initiatives and create mechanisms that ensure progress towards our north star
• Act as the main document owner of Amazon Shipping strategy and present your vision to VP and SVP audiences. This would also include OP1, OP2, 3YP doc.
• Establish/lead regular mechanisms to track strategic direction and communicate internally/externally
• Understand key customer differences in local geos/market nuances through gathering insights
The Principal, Amazon Shipping Strategy you will be responsible for shaping business and strategy updates that will be reviewed within the Amazon S-Team, up to the CEO. You will work diligently to understand our customers and business value proposition across geographies and work backwards to ensure that our investments in product, technology, support and operations meet customers’ needs and that our business scales. This role will interface frequently with Amazon Shipping and Transportation leadership and play a key role in how we build and scale the next great Amazon business.
Key job responsibilities
The 2024 Key Objectives for this role will be to:
1. Own key one-off investment decision documents, as well as regular cadence mechanisms for WW Amazon Shipping org
2. Define the key north star strategies for Amazon Shipping and ensure that we are working backwards across teams to meet our vision
3. Deeply understand the market segment and our value proposition to ensure our Think Big vision scales as we move through critical operational plan junctures
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- 7+ years of blending product and program management skills to execute strategic initiatives about process creation, standardization, and improvement experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience owning feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience as a product manager or owner
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience owning technology products

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $145,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
