Our Marketing and Loyalty team is the strategic force behind United’s industry-leading brand and experience, supporting revenue growth by turning customers into lifelong United flyers. Our marketing communications, market research and brand teams drive travelers’ familiarity and engagement with the United brand. Our product, design and service teams bring the signature United brand to life in our clubs and onboard our aircraft, ensuring a seamless, premier experience. And when customers choose United again and again, that’s because the loyalty team has been hard at work crafting an award-winning program. Our loyalty team manages United MileagePlus®, building travel and lifestyle partnerships that customers can engage with every day, and works with our Star Alliance partners to ensure United can take you anywhere you want to go.

Job Overview and Key Responsibilities:

As Principal - Loyalty Marketing, you will support the development of marketing strategies and brand positioning for the MileagePlus Program, co-brand cards, with a focus on partnership initiatives to drive and articulate value for members and cardholders. This role combines brand marketing strategy and execution, helping to craft compelling marketing programs, while ensuring consistency with both the MileagePlus and United brand voice and positioning.

Lead and oversee the development of integrated marketing programs that support the goals and priorities of the Loyalty departmentDrive partner marketing efforts to drive customer value, enhance partner engagement, and contribute to increased accrual, redemption and media opportunitiesCreate marketing materials that support loyalty campaigns and enhance the overall customer experience within the MileagePlus programImplement loyalty engagement and membership acquisition strategiesFoster relationships with critical stakeholders, external agencies and partners to drive maximum impact and facilitate clear communicationEnsure consistency in the application of the MileagePlus brand’s look, feel, and messaging across all touchpoints

NOTE: This position provides a hybrid work arrangement including 50% of the time spent working onsite at our Chicago office location and 50% remotely.

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):Bachelors degree in Marketing, Advertising, Digital Media, Social Media Marketing, Business or equivalent experience4 years in marketing, communications and/or advertising, ideally in airline and loyaltyEntrepreneurial role with a start-up mentality.
