Primary Purpose:  Provide technical leadership in designing, developing, and testing power, motor control electronic hardware, and electric machines for our products and services.

 

Essential Functions:

Engineer Develop, program, and implement AC drive systems, power converters, and electric machines. Demonstrate expert knowledge of process and skills to design wide ranges of power, complexity, and application of power systems.  Projects will include emphasis on commercial details and project management including but not limited to: Speed and torque controlled motor drive development Motor electrical design Development and tuning of regulators including current, speed, torque, EMF, and field weakening Expert knowledge of motor architectures, motor design, control algorithms, and dynamics Expert understanding of power converter concepts such as buck-boost DC/DC Power electronics design and packaging Development of detailed models and simulation of systems using Matlab and Simulink Provide mentorship for other engineers Lead some or all the project development phases related to the products supported. Collaborate with Sales team and customers to define and support product requirements. Provide technical leadership of complex, multi-faceted engineering projects. Requirements:

Education: Master’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Electrical/Electronic/Computer engineering preferred. Experience: 15+ years of experience involving power electronics design, motor control development, motor electrical design, low level firmware development, and/or control electronics design. Other: Excellence in analytical and critical thinking skills Strong communication skills in both written and verbal forms Strong interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask multiple priorities Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Ability to promote a positive company image to customer Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision making related to non-routine duties Overnight travel required with international travel optional
