We are looking for an outstanding Principal Advanced Manufacturing Engineer – Technical Operations and Test. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Westborough, MA, USA | North Reading, MA, USA Key job responsibilities • Actively support and foster a culture of inclusion. • Provide design for X guidance/feedback on electromechanical designs. – with SME level experience with test methodologies • Develop and define product and subsystem level test architecture for mid-volume production of complex products that are not traditionally manufactured at scale – work through ambiguity • Influence the design for test of complex large systems by driving requirements and influencing machine design throughout the product development lifecycle. • Execute on delivering test solutions by driving the implementation of your architecture into high quality scalable solutions that are deployed in both engineering labs and across multiple global contract manufacturing locations • Guide, mentor, and direct in house and 3P resources during the development, delivery, and factory deployment of test solutions • Own solving significantly complex technical problems related to ensuring that MSP has robust, stable, scalable and cost-effective test process to ensure production of the highest quality products for our customers • Set the standards for HW testability and delivery of scalable solutions, drive related best practices across MSP • Mentor team members and design engineers. • Evaluate production, supplier and field failures for root cause analysis and resolution. • Up to 25% travel required. A day in the life Collaborate with cross functional MSP teams developing and deliver complex mechatronics solutions that innovate and improve the efficiency of how we process, package, and deliver the best experience to our customers receiving products from Amazon. We do this with a goal of continuously improving the sustainability of the entire process path. In this principal role you will be an influential leader that develops strategy, contributes to its execution as an individual contributor and a force multiplier that enables others to deliver high quality results. You will influence manufacturing strategy, test architecture, solution implementation, data aggregation analysis, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Basic Qualifications • BSME/EE or equivalent required. • 15+ years of relevant work experience. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Demonstrated expertise with new product development. • Familiarity with industry standard tools for problem solving and risk management. • Broad manufacturing commodity background (Mechanical and Electrical) and related test methodology. • Deep experience with robotic work cell development and integration, including one or more of the following: o Automation equipment specification, selection, and implementation o Automation programming, controls, and communications o Design of trials, testing, and debugging • Deep commodity experience with one or more of the following: o Automation equipment specification, selection, and implementation o Robotic work cell programming, controls, and communications o Robotic work cell commissioning and debugging Preferred Qualifications • Engineering or Business Master’s degree. • Experience across multiple design and operations disciplines. • 5+ years technical team leadership.
