About This Role

Newmont, a world-leading mining company committed to sustainability, innovation, and responsible resource management, is seeking a strategic and results-driven professional to advise the Chief People Officer (CPO). In this high-impact role, you will align HR strategies with business objectives, ensure governance compliance, and optimize the People function’s efficiency. Your expertise in executive advisory, change management, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence will help drive business success.

 

This position is based at Newmont’s Denver, CO headquarters and requires flexibility to support global operations.

What You’ll Do Drive execution of the CPO’s strategic agenda, ensuring compliance with Board, Executive, and regulatory requirements.Serve as a key liaison between the CPO and senior leaders within the People function and across the Business, addressing critical People function challenges and facilitating alignment Establish and refine management routines, ensuring structured engagement and alignment with CPO priorities.Oversee strategic program management, governance, and compliance to enhance efficiency.Develop and manage CPO meeting agendas, driving alignment and informed decision-making.Identify risks and emerging issues, providing proactive solutions that align with corporate and functional strategies.Integrate Working Together at Newmont principles, embedding structured ways of working and fostering a high-performance culture.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive enterprise-wide initiatives, ensuring  seamless execution of key HR and organizational priorities.Supports and facilitates governance, compliance and risk management reporting, ensuring alignment and clear messaging for the Board of Directors and ELT presentations.Develop executive-level presentations, reports, and communications for the Board and ELT, collaborating with People leaders and team members to ensure clarity and alignment.What We’re Looking For

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.Certifications like PMP, PRINCE2, SHRM, CIPD, or Certified Management Consultant (CMC) are a plus.

Experience:

Extensive experience in HR strategy, business advisory, or corporate governance.Strong project management skills, leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.Proven ability to engage C-suite stakeholders and support decision-making.Experience in matrixed global organizations, governance, and risk management.Skilled in executive-level communications, presentations, and reporting.Expertise in change management, operational excellence, and leadership effectiveness.

Skills:

The salary range offered for this role is USD $172,500-$241,500. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.  


This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance. This role also will be eligible for participation in a discretionary long-term incentive program, pursuant to which an employee may receive awards based on their level and individual performance.
