We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Engineer Scientist specializing in fire smoke and air particle detection to join our dynamic team. As a Principal Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading the research, development, and implementation of state-of-the-art fire detection technologies, with a primary focus on smoke particle and hazardous air detection. This includes air/gas sensing, air flow, temperature and humidity effect and be able to differentiate smoke from dust and mist. Other research focus on life safety environmental protection and awareness. You should have research expertise, strong physics knowledge, and understanding of life safety regulatory standards such as UL/ETL, lead new innovation with guidance to team members. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, prototype, and optimize innovative solutions that enhance fire safety and save lives.
**Job Duties**
+ Lead the research and development efforts for fire smoke particle detection technologies, from concept to commercialization.
+ Design and implement advanced algorithms and signal processing techniques for the accurate and reliable detection of smoke particles in various environments.
+ Collaborate with hardware engineers to develop sensor technologies optimized for smoke particle detection, considering factors such as sensitivity, specificity, and robustness.
+ Conduct thorough testing and validation of detection algorithms and sensor prototypes, analyzing performance metrics and optimizing parameters for real-world applications.
+ Stay abreast of the latest advancements in fire detection technology, including emerging sensor technologies, machine learning techniques, and regulatory standards.
+ Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
**You Must Have**
+ Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master's) in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on air particle and sensing signal processing or sensor technology.
+ Proven track record of 10+ years of experience in the research, development, and implementation of fire detection technologies, with a specialization in smoke particle detection preferred.
+ Extensive expertise in fire smoke, heat, natural gas and CO lab testing and analysis test data to determine sensing accuracy
+ Proficiency in lab test equipment, algorithm development and prototyping.
+ Experience with sensor technologies commonly used in fire detection systems, such as photoelectric smoke sensors, ionization smoke detectors, and multi-sensor arrays.
